What’s Trending: July Edition

Warning: Reading this blog may make you a Belieber, or at least get a few songs from Justin Bieber’s new album stuck in your head. “Swag” was released on July 11th and already has 16 songs that charted on the Billboard Hot 100 list, with “Daisies” debuting at number two. What’s trending in life and entertainment often makes its way to TikTok and Instagram Reels, and you’ll see that as you read through this blog. Get ready to catch the Bieber fever and participate in trends that could get more eyes on your business.

Bowe Digital can help! We share monthly updates on what’s trending in video and audio, so all you have to do is get behind the camera. That’s My Baby Video Trend

Justin Bieber wrote “Go Baby” about his wife, Hailey Bieber. Now people are using the song to show off their significant other, best friend, coworker or pets, and rewriting the lyrics to describe their person, like this example. Instead of “That’s my baby, she’s iconic. iPhone case, lip gloss on it,” you can try something like, “That’s my baby, she’s iconic. When she’s working, she’s supersonic,” with a video of your coworker working at super speed. Or film your pet holding something, like Lucy Beans the Golden, and change the lyrics to be about your product: “That’s my baby, she’s iconic. [Product name], two paws on it.

Stand on Business Video Trend

Nothing makes our hearts happier than grown adults who are willing to look a little (or a lot) silly. Everyone from business executives to car salesmen and weathermen is using this song to mimic Justin’s signature stomp or show off how they would walk when “standing on business.” Have some fun and try it yourself, or ask people around your office to join in.

That’s Awesome, Congratulations Audio Trend

This is a clever way to highlight just how excited you are about your product or service, and it can be adapted to work for any business. The format is simple:

???? Use the first part of the audio (“Oh that’s awesome, congratulations”) to react—mildly—to big personal news (like an engagement or pregnancy).
???? Then cut to the second part (“You’re in for just the greatest journey of your life…”) with an over-the-top, heartfelt reaction when someone says they’re trying your product or service.

I Want it All Audio Trend

We want it all, too, and by that, we mean we want to see all your team members on social media. This trend is a great (and fun) way to accomplish that. Plus, it may be nostalgic for the late Millennials and Gen-Zers you work with. Pair this audio from High School Musical with clips of you pitching your next big social media idea to different members on your team. Try lip syncing the words or acting it out the way boyergmajax did in this example.

Clap Prank Capcut Template

This is our kind of prank—it’s harmless (mostly), and it can get more eyes on your social media. To participate, ask your boss to take or send you a video of them clapping once, without any context. Next, insert the video into the CapCut template. After the clap, the video will transition to a little girl performing a cheer like this.

Still Trending: Justin Bieber You’re Not Getting It CapCut Template

The great thing about trends is that some of them stick around, giving you more time to participate. So, for the second month in a row, we’re asking you, what’s not clicking for your boss, coworkers or customers? Is it your PTO request? What work is contracted versus non-contracted for a client? Training for a new hire? Use this template to vent about it (but be kind and use humor).

Updating Your Instagram Bio

More participation in trends = more views = more visits to your profile. Is your bio up to date? Your Instagram profile is the first impression you make on potential followers who could turn into customers. @elite_marketing_with_steph on Instagram shares what to include in your bio and three things you should remove. Check it out:

Step 1: Your name line is so important! This is how users find you. It needs to be optimized with ‘keywords’ relating to your target customer.

Step 2: Line one should explain how you can help and what kind of content you post.

Step 3: Use lines two and three for achievements, social proof, experience, etc.

Step 4: Line four should be a CTA for your lead magnet or directing visitors to your link in bio.

Step 5: Your profile pic should be a clear photo of you or your logo if it is a business account.

THREE things to ditch from your bio:

???? Generic descriptions that don’t lead to who you serve & how you can help.

???? Cliche quotes like “live your best life” or “chase your dreams.”

???? Hashtags.
