What’s Trending: October Edition

“In the space of just seven minutes in the casual daylight of Sunday morning, four suspects stole nine pieces of France’s crown jewels from the Louvre. They robbed not just the most visited museum in the world, but also the French people themselves,” says this article. If 7 minutes at the Louvre can stun all of France and make national news, then 30+ seconds on TikTok and Instagram Reels is enough to wow your audience. Participating in trends is a great way to steal people’s attention.

Bowe Digital will be your partner in crime! We share monthly updates on what’s trending in video and audio, so all you have to do is get behind the camera. You’re a Bird Video Trend

If you’re a bird, I’m a bird…or something like that. Sadly, this trend is the closest some people may get to having an office pet, and, warning, you may have to wear your biggest shirt to work to participate. Perch yourself on a co-worker’s arm like this example and whistle along to the tune. To create the illusion that you’re floating, follow this tutorial

Seeing if We Have a Hidden Talent Video Trend

You’ve heard the saying ‘don’t quit your day job,’ right? Well, we’ll see about that! Get your office crew together, sing Stay With Me by Sam Smith, and let your followers decide if you’re destined for fame or just a really fun lunch break. We’ve seen everyone from nurses to finance bros showing off their “hidden talents” and getting tons of engagement with funny comments like “guy on the left has to work overtime” or “this isn’t horrible, but don’t quit.”

T-Pain You Do Audio Trend

Do I need to participate in this trend? You do. It’s a fun way to show off your personality while also spotlighting whatever products or services your business offers. Just pair your customer’s inner monologue with a perfectly timed ‘you do.’ If you’re a real estate agent, try something like, “Do I need to go to this open house?” and then lip-sync to T-Pain while showing off different parts of the property. If you’re a title agent, try, “Do I really need a title insurance policy?” and have people around the office lip-syncing, “you do.” This trend can work for every industry and product, including swanstrailfarms’ apple cider donuts.

Actually Romantic Audio Trend

Taylor Swift’s new album Life of a Showgirl dropped earlier this month, and it should come as no surprise that multiple songs have made their way to TikTok and Instagram Reels. “The Fate of Ophelia,” “Eldest Daughter,” “Opalite,” “Wood” and “Actually Romantic” are all trending. The line “stop talking dirty to me” from Actually Romantic has become a popular audio clip this month. You can use it to highlight a question customers, coworkers or partners ask that gets you excited. For example, “Can you tell me more about your product?” or “Do you want to go for coffee and a little treat?

Make your own AI Scream photo with Ghostface

The Scream movies recently inspired a new photo trend. People are using AI to generate ultra-realistic 90s-style photos where Ghostface (and other horror movie characters) appear behind them while they’re totally unaware. It’s eerie, nostalgic and oddly aesthetic.

Want to make your own? Here’s how:

  1. Download Google’s AI app, Gemini, and upload a photo of yourself.
  2. Choose a horror-themed prompt. For the Scream trend, try: “Create a photo of me in a dreamy Y2K style portrait, think shiny satin bedding, butterfly clips, and a chunky phone cord. Do not change my face. The ghostface killer from Scream should be behind me staring at me, his body should be dimly lit, and he should be standing in the doorway of a dimly lit hallway”. Adapt prompts for other themes like Chucky or Michael Myers
  1. Hit send, and let the AI do its (terrifying) thing.
